I'm back from Hanoi & Guilin! Been back for a few days but haven't felt like blogging till now. At the risk of sounding like an extremely spoilt child, I am really, really glad to be back. Again, at the risk of sounding like an extremely spoilt child, it felt more like a hardship tour than a holiday - painfully (literally) long bus rides; unimaginably gross toilets; the combination of both leading to very parched throats (cos don't dare to drink too much water); waking up at 6am every morning; generally unappetising food. The holiday bit came solely from the novelty of being in new places. The parts where we actually got to see stuff was nice though; too bad most of our time was wasted travelling. Oh well. Shall blog in greater detail when I have more time.


Heee I missed Singapore so much! The morning after I came back (ie. yesterday), I went for a nice scrambled eggs + mushrooms breakfast at Toast, shopped some, and then had seafood paella for lunch, then shopped somemore. Happy stuff! :):) Went home to deposit my stuff and wrap presents, then off to jon's high school xmas party. Haha I wore normal clothes and brought stuff to change, but jq wore his schoolboyish-looking ensemble there, so I was afraid that on the way people would think I was his sugar mommy or sth. It didn't help that he was trying to make them think so. A lot of ppl wore pe stuff, so cheaterbug! Heh. Watched a bit of Rent, tried to watch Amelie but gave up because of its lack of English subtitles, and watched Team America! Damn stupid show, but qt funny. Why is it we end up watching that everytime we watch dvds at jon's house? winston, jq, joel, risse, me, mich, ryan, sam, jon

Merry Christmas all! Am about 1.3 hours late, but nvm. I hope you all had as good a Christmas as I did. :):)

As I have said many times before, I love the hols. It can be more tiring than exam-time but it's also definitely way more fun. :):)

Yesterday, I watched Fred Claus with jq. Spent the first 3/4 of the movie glowering at the screen cos Fred was really, really annoying me. Like he was supposed to be funny-annoying but he was more annoying-annoying and I wanted to slap him. Urgh. He made up for it during the last 3/4 of the movie though. Heh. The bad guy too. He was way too mean in the first 3/4 of the show. In comedies bad guys aren't supposed to be that evil. They're supposed to be sinister but a kind of dramatic or bumbling, to lighten things up. And he was not. Thankfully the last 1/4 of the movie was sweet.

After that, I did a teensy bit of shopping and went to meet my sis for awhile. Then went down to Haji Lane to meet my lovely tribers peis, ade and nee. :):) Not much to buy there as the stuff was rather ex, but we had a nice time chatting over waffles & crumble & icecream. Heee. Then I almost killed myself in my heels walking to city hall, where we did a spot of shopping.

Then it was down to Brussel Sprouts for zhengxi's birthday dinner. Heh my second time there in about 4 days. Many people around many oddly-arranged tables, and pots of mussels. Wheee mussels = love. Glenda we asked for the mustard! Haha not bad but other places also have that kind of mustard le. Next, Cafe Iguana for drinks and nachos. :):) Heh zhengxi bought us a round of margaritas + tequila shots. Don't really like tequila but the pear margarita was really good!

Bleah I just found out that we have to include a 500-word personal statement (read: essay) in our exchange app. Also, lots of other random stuff I thought I was done with a long time ago. V sian. Haiiiii.

Christmas charity yesterday! I was attached to this really hyperactive little girl. REALLY hyperactive. When we first met, she wasn't that energetic yet; maybe it's cos we were at Snow City and absolutely frozen at the time. (Snow City is not worth your money. There is only one fun slide.) But after that, when we had gotten back to btc and were awaiting lunch, she got so jumpy - literally - and wouldn't stop running around and/or singing in the highest pitch imaginable. But she was really cute so it wasn't too bad. :) It rained so Jacob Ballas was cancelled and we stayed in playing games instead. I can't believe that the first game we decided to play was one that allowed the kids to keep screaming at the top of their lungs. -_- Later, we joined the rest of the groups and handed the kids over to Amardeep, who was an absolute miracle. Somehow he managed to keep them all kept quiet and listening attentively to him. The magic show was pretty entertaining, though I felt he did more pseudo-comedy than magic. And balloon sculpting! Heeee I made my first dog ever. :):) Wheee. Quite fun actually.

After that we were so tired that 9 of us went to Kenny Rogers for dinner and ended up sitting there for like two hours.

I'm HATING this dreary weather.

In other news, I present the jq hat series. Haha. :):)

Heee I met glenda, dee and beek for lunch at Tandoor Restaurant yesterday. The food was not bad, but the portions were pretty small. The cottage cheese thingum was v good! And the naan was v warm and fluffy. :):) When we tried to leave Holiday Inn (ohh which we discovered was actually a v pretty hotel, and not inn-like at all!) it was pouring so we decided to take a cab. Bad idea - heavy rain; massive jam. From Somerset to nearly-reaching-Far East Plaza, the cab fare was 10 bucks. In the end the cab driver advised us to get out and walk. Bleah.

Met jq for The Golden Compass after. The polar bears v seh. The witches too. Heh. I know it's a kid's show but I was quite scared throughout. Mrs Coulter's daemon creeps me out. But overall, v exciting show :) I read the email warning about it but I don't know how much to believe; I read the books a couple of years ago and didn't get any bad vibes.

Went to Brussel Sprouts after. Haha we got lost and ended up in Chinatown, but at least I think we worked off dinner, which was a v decadent two pots of mussels, lots of fries, one huge mug+one glass Hoegarden and two Cosmos. Haha when I was very nearly done with my drink the waiter accidentally knocked it over, so I had another one free. Heeee. I <3 mussels. (And, for michelle's benefit, <3 = heart, not less than three.) -_-

Watched Enchanted yesterday! :):) Lovely show. The two main characters performed their roles absolutely perfectly, and complemented each other so well. :) Then went to celebrate rachel & jo chew's birthday! At Pizzeria de Mario or sth like that. THERE WAS A CAT. It was prancing about throughout dinner. Thank goodness I was in jeans, if not I'd have been a lot more scared than I was (which was already quite a bit). It was quite cute though, for a cat. BUT still a cat. me & rachel!

And today I went shopping at bugis with peis and beek. Haha somehow we were v v tired while walking. I think after all the exams and online shopping my feet are not used to walking alr. I bought a dress without trying it on! Cos no trying allowed. But it fits well so yaaay what a steal. :):)

I have no mood to blog anymore.

6 hours of solid overnight mahjong, followed by supper/breakfast and 8 more hours of sleep. LOVE post-exams. It's manifestly unhealthy, but there's no need to worry about not getting home too late. :):) Heee my luck was v good last night. I won $50 in law and $30 in equity. Haha. See my tiles!

NO MORE NO MORE NO MORE EXAMS!!!!! :):):) Wheeeeee. When I put down my pen today I didn't feel that great. Just a rather mellow sense of relief that it was all over. (Could also be due to the fact that the paper was BAD.) But now I'm really really happy I've finished my exams! :):) Heee.

Didn't join the rest for Enchanted cos I had somewhere to be soon after. Instead, went to Cedele with jq, pak and douglas, where they grossed me out discussing boyzilians and ndu's hell week. Urgh. Then met my family for dinner! Haha Sakae Teppanyaki. Nice food but the portions are kind of small. And if you order meat they leave it a little raw in the middle, which I don't like. But my seafood set was good. :) I think my sis still prefers her usual (but now gone) bishan food court teppanyaki. And I had my first whiff of post-exams shopping! :):) Bought a pair of black flats from URS. The same old, but I like my stuff simple.

Heh. Am going joel's to play mj now.

I have to conclude that the best kind of music to listen to when studying is (for me) Chinese songs. Because I only have a vague idea what they mean, I am not distracted by the words. I have, however, been distracted in that I decided to blog about my discovery.

Corporate liability is actually kind of relaxing, compared to everything else.

Brain is fried.

There is just too much to cover and not enough time. BLEAH.

I hate company law.
