Yes, it's... Compulsive Blogging Day again!... when was the last time that happened?

After reading OotP, I was a bit worried about the romantic outcome of the book, but after reading the SQ forums and starting to notice the subtle hints, I'm elated!

This is it! It's going to be R/Hr! I'm so so so happy!

And, uh, I'm going to drink tea without milk for once. [That was for Xiaoyan, who is sick of my HP-centred entries]

9:32 PM

Come on babe, why don't we paint Hogsmeade?
...And all that jazzzz!
I'm gonna rouge my knees and roll my stockings down.
...And all that jazzzz!
Apparate, I know a whoopee spot where the magic's cool, the Butterbeer is hot! It's just a noisy hall, where there's a nightly duel and all...that...JAAHAAAAZZZZZZZ

Dear Blogger,

I hate you.

Sincerely,
Cheryl.

10:14 AM

Xiaoyan has complained that my past couple of posts have been Harry-Potter-based, and so I'm here trying to post something completely not related to my current obsession.

Right. Hmm. -drums fingers on keyboard-

Well, I suppose I could start with my holiday revision, which can be summed up in about three words: It's not working. It's just... not. I can't bring myself to sit in front of a pile of books and study while the computer... exists. And I'm so behind in terms of homework. I don't think I'm planning to do the epebble ones. Not compulsory, right?

... I have nothing left to say. Have been busy visiting Sugarquill Forums lately, but cannot discuss them in rather lame attempt to stop talking about Potter. But I have to reply to something XY added in my guestbook- Draco is not ugly! He does not look awful! I can send you tons and tons of pictures as proof; he does not have a large forehead!

Sigh. Well, there goes my completely-not-related-to-Harry-Potter entry. Ohh! I have found uses for my two brand-new, hardcover notebooks! I love notebooks. Really, I do. -sniff- ... Let's not get melodramatic here. Ok, bye!

Today was the first time I really cried over OotP. I didn't cry when Sirius died, I didn't cry throughout the entire book. Today was the first time, and it's not because I read the book or anything. Look at this. It's something from one of the Sugarquill forums.

I wonder if Ron wasn't a bit lonely throughout this book.

Being a prefect doesn't exactly make you popular with your peers, and with him being so nervous about being keeper, and miserable about being so bad at it for most of the year, and not having Harry to share Quidditch practice with, he seemed to go off alone or head to bed early quite a bit.

Did it seem to anyone that Harry and Hermione did not seem happy enough for Ron's successes? Hermione and Harry, while not being unsupportive at all, weren't exactly brimming over with joy about his success. After the Quidditch match, which neither of them watched, he was trying to go over it with them. Now, since Harry is supposedly a Quidditch fan and of course a player, you would expect him to get more involved in this conversation. And does he? Not at all. He kind of smiles to himself because Ron's so proud of the game, but that's all. No "Well done, Ron" or "Could you go over that save again?" (Well, you know what I mean). Ron has always - with the exception of GoF - supported Harry, and never complained when Harry is successful - so why can't Harry be that for him?

This was taken from two posts; they were much longer than this, but you get the idea. It's just... I don't know. It's stupid, crying over a fictional character who didn't die but was just lonely. I think, somehow, that it's worse. To be alive yet not really so. Poor poor Ron.

Tuesday, June 24, 2003 11:13 AM

I was online, minding my own business, when suddenly I heard the words 'Ron and Hermione' on tv. Naturally, I had to know what was going on. My sister was watching Magic Knight Rayearth, and it happened to be advertisement time on Kids Central, and they were interviewing people, asking what ships they thought were going to come about.

And I heard person after person go 'Ron and Hermione', and I nearly died of happiness, and I was trying not to grin too widely cos my sister and my mother were right there.

But of course, I didn't realise then that they were going in batches. First came all the R/Hr shippers. Then next came all the H/Hr shippers! Each time I heard 'Harry Potter and Hermione' I thought I would go crazy.

They're polluting impressionable young minds! They're ruining the psychological make-up of little kids! They'll be scarred forever!

Uh, I'll stop now. I realise that my past three or four entries have been about Harry Potter, but can you blame me? Book Five's just out, and I'm obsessed!

Favorite new character: Ginny Weasley

Best baddie: Lestrange

Funniest moment: Ron finding out about Ginny's attachment to Michael Corner

Most annoying character: Delores Umbridge, no doubt about it. Die, Umbridge, die!

Best bit overall: Dumbledore saving the day about three times!

Most disappointing bit: Hardly any Lupin!

Most shocking bit: Sirius's death! It just... happened! No big lead-up or anything!

Thoughts on the big death: NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Length of time taken to read it: Started around seven-thirty in the morning on Saturday, ended around one in the afternoon on Sunday.

Predictions I had that come true: More R/Hr clues but no actual R/Hr, a Harry/Cho date.

Random thoughts: I'm a converted H/G. Really and truly. I'm never going to use the word seriously again because it'll just remind me of Sirius and I might just burst out crying in the middle of nowhere.

Sunday, June 22, 2003 10:41 PM

"Would you like a cup of tea, Harry?" Remus asked, when he saw him there.

Harry would very much have liked one. It would have calmed his nerves. "Er - no thanks," he said. "Have you seen Ginny?"

He could have sworn that Remus smirked.

"She said she was going for a walk," Remus answered. "And then she went out back to the garden. I think she may be checking on her Herbology plot - have you seen it? I don't think she'll have a problem earning that N.E.W.T."

"No, I haven't," said Harry. "I'll go and have a look." He wheeled around and nearly dashed out the back door, and as he shut the door behind him, he knew that he had heard Remus laugh.

Am having too much fun obsessing... H/G!

10:08 PM

JKR interview with Katie Couric

Couric: Any snogging with Hermione?

Ms. Rowling: (Horrified.) Hermione and Harry? Do you think so?

Couric: No, I was kidding.

Ms. Rowling: Ron and Hermione, I would say - there's more tension there.

Oh gosh, JKR, you're my hero! I adore OoTP! I love it! And all the R/Hr clues... and the development of Ginny's character...

Ginny Weasley is now officially my favourite character in Harry Potter. Well, besides darling Ron. And maybe McGonagall. I like Ginny almost as much as I hate Umbridge, and that's saying a lot. And I'm now a converted Harry/Ginny shipper. No more D/G for me!

-looks sadly at all the D/G fics I've written-

-throws them into the trash can- [Uh... figuratively speaking only]

Sigh.

Saturday, June 21, 2003 5:43 AM

And the Harry Potter fans are holding their breaths. Tick, tock, tick, tock. Are you hearing this? It's five-forty am and there's but an hour and twenty minutes left!!!

No one sane is awake at this hour- that is, no one except Potter fans. -cue evil laughter-

I won't be coming online till I finish the book [which won't be for a few days] but fear not, my feathered friends, I'll be back!

-loud cackling sound is heard, with thunder and lightning crashing in the background-

Friday, June 20, 2003 7:32 PM

The heredity chapter of bio actually makes sense! It's rather... interesting, in a way.

And the whole concept of evolution and natural selection is kind of cool.

Really.

I'm kind of weirded out now.

In people's eyes, in the swing, tramp, and trudge; in the bellow and the uproar, the carriages, motor bars, omnibuses, vans, sandwich men shuffling and swinging; brass bands; barrel organs; in the triumph and the jingle and the strange high singing in some aeroplane overhead was what she loved; life; London; this moment of June.

8:34 PM

The second lily bud bloomed!

7:21 PM

I pierced my ears!

And I didn't scream/cry/resolve never to pierce my ears again!

You're Virginia Woolf! You're known for your unique
"stream of consciousness writing",
though it's a mystery why- it simply means that
you ramble on about everything you notice and
have extreme difficulty staying on topic. You
are bitter about men's power and think women
should take over. You've suffered several
nervous breakdowns and are constantly
depressed. Cheer up, because staying on this
path never turns out well.

9:12 PM

On one hand, both the thirteen-dollar personality test that we took during Saturday's workshop and Fel's handwriting analysis pronounced me a realist with both feet firmly on the ground. On the other hand, both glen and rah said I was an idealist, and friends should know best, right?

The thing is, I think I'm a mixture of both extremes. I'm a true virgo- practical, down-to-earth, maddeningly sensible, realistic to the point of cynicism. And then again, I dream way too much for my own good; that's why I write. I know I'm going to be sorely disappointed in the future when my life isn't all peaches and cream.

Someone once said that we should always keep our head in the stars and our feet on the ground. It's a beautiful, beautiful line.

So, am I a realist or an idealist?

I would really like to know.

8:51 PM

And I officially declare this Compulsive Blogging Day.

8:49 PM

... You tried.

I hate that I always come back. I hate that I bother.

7:57 PM

Chance is something that I've been freely giving, but I'm sick of bothering. I'm not going to try anymore. This is me, giving up on you. I hope you have a nice life. Goodbye.
