This really is shaping up to be hell week.

Yesterday, I discovered that the LAWR memo I'd submitted was INCOMPLETE. My Summary of Arguments was left hanging so it was like a very bare Statement of Facts. My Statement of Facts itself was also very bare, come to think of it. I've become so used to scrimping on words that I needlessly summarised a substantial portion of facts. And I'd been so caught up in substantiating my argument that I forgot to complete the non-word count bit. :( Urgh.

And my tuition kid keeps delaying payment. And my other tuition kid has a test this friday, so I brilliantly offered to shift tuition from fri to thur evening, after a session with my other tuition kid. And THEN I remembered that I have a 1500 word crim essay due fri afternoon. Which I have not started on (unless you count choosing which question to do), not even opened a Word document for it yet. And I've got a burton tutorial tomorrow which I totally have not prepared for (and burton tuts typically require reading full cases) and a 1500 word privity essay due in three hours, and my essay is currently in shambles.

And there's all the misc legal theory/LAWR stuff to read. Everytime school reopens it's like I've been thrown into a whirlpool. The struggle is merely to survive.

Friday: gambling, gambling, gambling. Spent the afternoon at mich's house playing mj with mich, jq and sam. Was winning at first but once I decided to cancel tuition to continue playing my luck went down. Hoho retribution cos I'm a lazy, irresponsible tutor. :( Dinner'd at Long John Silver's before cabbing down to ben's house for his party, where we gambled somemore!! Played blackjack. The minimum bid was $2, which is qt a lot for a risk-averse person like me. But somehow my luck was pretty good. But everytime someone rode on my luck I'd lose. Haha felt qt bad. And I was banker for awhile! Super stressful. Adjourned to the mj table next where my good luck continued. 'Di hu-ed' in my first game. Haha gamed using the fourth tile thrown, and Isaac was flabbergasted cos he had to bao. Also had one qi tai win. Haha so I managed to recoup my afternoon's losses and more. :)

Saturday: work and play make cher a happy girl. Gave tuition to two kids in the morning before I went to school to meet caitlin & sam to study. Haha one by one we were joined by more muggers - mich, christine, raffli, pakwing and junbin. And apparently jgan & risse were in school as well! We're well-balanced kids. :) Jojoy & dexuan joined us for a chopchop dinner at a v good duck rice place in boon lay (think it's called lim kim lee or sth like that). I don't usually like duck (except for peking duck), but this one was really good. Haha watching pakwing wolf down the rice you would've thought he really was Ethiopian. Sped down to NUS to watch Douglas (he played a lawyer; how apt) in the Temasek Hall production, Scarred. It was pretty good! Some parts were scary though; I was clutching onto christine for dear life. I liked the twist at the end. V disturbing; I was thinking about it even after I got home and I've concluded that a psychiatric disorder like schizophrenia is probably one of the worst sort of diseases to get, because there's no escaping it. Supper after that at Boon Tong Kee chicken rice! Nowonder I've been piling on the pounds. Eeeek.

Hoho this morning after church my family and I went to AMK hub to do some grocery shopping. I was telling my sis about some doughnuts I was planning to buy so she went to check out the shop while my mom and I were in another shop, and guess who she came back with? NICHOLAS TIONG. Haha they met at the doughnut store! Where he was buying doughnuts for me! Heee so nice. Great minds think alike. :) On another note, I have resolved to work super super hard after the mid-sem break. No more popping out for lunch in between lectures!! No more parties!! No more online shopping during legal theory/crim!! No more blog-surfing during contract!! No more last min research!! Need discipline. -nods-

Boooo. Lily wong & co. are out wakeboarding while I'm stuck at home. :( Such a good day for tanning too! Wasted. Spent my morning giving tuition and my afternoon in the CJ Koh Law Library photocopying extracts from cases to submit to my LAWR tutor. So happening. Urgh.

Ohh I finished Rome Sweet Home. I enjoyed it a lot, although there are a lot of typos. The writers' faith is amazing. I can't seem to relate to some of what they described though. Pitfalls of being a cradle Catholic.

Met risse and chris for Ash Wednesday mass at noon today... The church was very very crowded and it was very hot outside. After mass we went to meet caitlin & mich for girls' outing! How did the girls' outing turn into this? (omg the above paragraph sounds like sth out of a pri school compo.)


Basically, sam claimed that he got cheated into coming (not knowing it was a girls-only thing); actually we think he planned the whole thing so just so he'd be able to boast to the other 2/3 of lily wong that he had lunch surrounded by a bevy of girls. Then pakwing wanted a share of the fame, so under the pretense of rescuing sam he came too. Then jgan decided to drop by after his tg movie outing because with lawkings there, he wouldn't be the only guy. So complicated. Haha. I ate dessert at Azabo Sabo! Green tea ice-cream with red bean paste & dumplings. Not bad but the one at the bugis jap restaurant is nicer!! Must really go back there sometime. Shopped for awhile with the law ppl then went to meet beek, glenda & dee for dinner! Ichiban Boshi, I like. :) Hadn't met up with them in damn long! Went to Topshop after that and I tried on this v pretty flowy brown top. But am broke so I didn't get it. :( But glenda bought it!! Haha same taste. JY WE DECIDED THAT WE'RE GONNA EAT LOTS OF NICE STUFF WHEN YOU COME BACK. COME BACK SOON!! :)

CNY, Day 3 (cont'd): First time gambling during the new year! Played mahjong with joel, jq and peiying. Feel qt bad; we went to joel's house, polished off all his pineapple tarts, got hongbaos from his mommy and then won her son's money. I won $35 overall!! Haha am pro. :) But most of it was paid in cabfare. Then went to jojoy's house for a shanghai tang-themed cny party! Girls all dolled up in cheongsams and guys in samfus, v exciting. We wanted to stand at the stairs and take the china bride advertisement photos with pakwing's fan but we sadly forgot. Haha. Yummy food, good wine, lots of girly gossip, stupid bets (mich is $10 poorer cos sam managed to paddle back and forth across jojoy's pool on the rafty float without falling in) and gambling! Played taiti but was v guai, didn't play with money.

This time the guestlist was longer than usual... Haha but didn't get photos with the rest of them. Must really mix more. Haha I like themed parties. I remember the Harry Potter costume party and the retro party we had back in SN. V fun to dress up! :)

CNY, Day 1: I woke up at 8.30 and went down to find my relatives already gathered in my living room! Qt a shock. So my new year clothes for the day were blue fbts and a my sec 4 class tee. Glam queen, seriously. Urgh. Haha but I see my relatives every other week so it's no big deal. Spent the day eating! My hand just wouldn't stop moving from the containers of pineapple tarts/bak kwa/crispy spicy tapioca thing/konnyaku jelly to my mouth. Haha. Got bored in the afternoon so I decided to bake nutella cupcakes!! My last bit of chocolate before my lenten resolution kicks in. Nic dropped by later in the evening, and I ate somemore. Then I went to meet jojoy, jon & jq (all j's!) for a midnight movie. Epic. It was damn lame but funny, esp in the light of memo. A damn pretty raspberry frapp (it was pale pink!) at Starbucks ended my night. :)


CNY, Day 2: Dropped by for awhile at my uncle's place (where I polished off like ten pieces of carrot cake) and then went to my grandma's house, where I stayed the whole day, reading contract (yes. really. a little.) and taking paparazzi photos of my cute little baby cousins and cousin's babies! Wheeee I love them a lot a lot a lot. Even if they're getting to that irritating can't-stop-talking (actually, screaming's a more appropriate word) stage.

Feels good to be able to turn on the com and not have to go straight to my LAWR folder. :)

Rushed to hand in a 3000 + 1600 word memo yesterday afternoon (tutors = sadists) before zipping off to church and then Marina Square for tuan yuan fan! Hoho this year my family decided we wanted a break from cooking so we went for a buffet at Pariss International. There was a very wide spread of food, and the food was really good. Lots of seafood, which I love. Heee. AND THE CAKES! So decadent but so worth the calories. Ate so much; my relatives were qt shocked. Haha.

And even now, I'm wondering.

Clearly, my new year resolution not to be indecisive is not really working here, and being happy - when it's late at night and there's no one around to make me laugh - is harder than it seems.

Ok. Shall stop emo-ing and start memo-ing. (When I start to get lame, it means I'm okay.)

Die Cupid Die! Timbre last night - hot law school couple, lovely shepard's pie and breaded fish, withering two-lips (which I made pretty before taking photos), and I ran into Samantha!! :)

Seniors' return concert is over!! 4 weeks of practice culminated yest in a 4-min performance. Haha. Now I'll have my life back. I think I'll kind of miss dance pracs though. Had to rush off for tuition after the concert, but later I met the law ppl for dinner at Al Ameen! :) As always, the food was good. Adjourned to jon's house for a chillout session + Team America, which is a damn GUY puppet movie. Some of it is actually qt funny though.

HUNGRY. Been surfing food blogs, all of which feature spectacular photos. Want to eat nice stuff. :(

Went to Ichiban Boshi for dinner yest!! Love that place. Hoho the male:female ratio was 1:2 for like the first time ever. Curious coincidence that 2/3 of Lily Wong wasn't there, no? Haha this photo was taken after jgan, jon & zhengx abandoned us in favour of shopping.

First phys/chem tuition session today. Feeling damn dumb now. Realised that I haven't touched that stuff in more than a year! :( Gotta go read up on waves and electrolysis and centrifuge by the next lesson. :(



In other news, my mommy made pineapple tarts!! WHEEEE. My favourite thing about CNY, besides new clothes and bak kwa. :)

It had all the elements of a bad week - I was expecting a bad week - and it was, to some extent, a bad week but overall I'd say it went better than I expected. Been out a lot with law ppl. As if we don't see one another enough on weekdays, we meet up on weekends as well. We really need to stop playing so much.

Wednesday: The dreaded contract tutorial, followed by Babel at cine. V good, thought-provoking show, although some bits were severely traumatic. Supper at Kopitiam after. (:
Thursday: Haha this was the only pic I could find. Lunch at Renaldo's with the law ppl + Island Creamery Very Berry ice-cream! Ohh my very first tuition session in the evening.
Friday: TGIF! Slacking in the dressing room after dance prac, singing random songs. Watched SMU Latin Feste followed by (a v entertaining) dinner at Cartel. Saturday: Baked chocolate cherry cordial cookies! Haha and for once I made frosting!! Timbre'd till 2+ and supper'd at the HK Cafe!

Sunday: Yummy lunch at Great World City (sushi + cinnamon buns!!) and shopping at Zouk Flea Market! Wheeee I bought happy stuff. A pair of shorts, a skirt and two tops.
