Saturday, December 31, 2005 8:52 PM I'm so bored that I've taken to doing quizzes.
Thursday, December 29, 2005 11:44 AM I had my first ever (not counting the time at the law firm) office lunch on Tuesday. Haha the boss was treating everyone for a good year and I was invited although I haven't even started work. I expected a small catered lunch, buffet-style but instead we went to a Chinese restaurant, ten-course meal and all. Went to meet jy, beek, glen, dee and rah after that at TOAST, which is nicely hidden and tucked away in a discrete corner of taka. New discovery, yay. They have the most luscious chocolate cake. You could like choke on its richness, seriously. Hoho and the bacon smelt so good we went and ordered an eight dollar potato salad topped with bacon. And we had heated intellectual conversations! Also, I am utterly in awe of rah, who was accepted into Oxford Law. Am v proud of her! She will be the Elle Wood of Oxford, I am sure, complete with fluffy pink notebook and scented paper. :) Bought Jane Eyre in Kino and ran into Terrence and Dawn at the library. Went to Ichiban for a nice sushi dinner, where my friends proved that they are at times crazy people with a propensity to say 'voilau' in an attempt to swear elegantly. Booo, am gonna have lunch now. Saturday, December 24, 2005 11:22 AM Went ice-skating yesterday with my sis and cousins. We skated for nearly four hours. Quite fun actually, even though at first I had to clutch onto the railings at the sides for dear life. And also there was this horribly embarrassing incident where a tiny little girl banged into me and I spent an amazingly long time trying to straighten up without falling, till out of pity she asked me whether I'd like to have the metal bar support thing (meant for little kids) that she was using. Haha but managed not to fall down once, though I had several close shaves. There were some really pro skaters with hockey skates and everything; I want to be like them! I want to go ice-skating again... Prob when school starts though, then the rink will be all nice and empty. Yesterday I'd have said turbulence ahead, please fasten your seatbelts. But today things are looking a lot more hopeful, and I'm crossing my fingers. Thursday, December 22, 2005 8:03 PM Boooo. I am sad tonight. Saturday, December 17, 2005 12:55 PM Rules of the game: 1. Post 5 weird/random stuff about yourself. 2. At the end, list the names of 5 people whom you want next to do this, and leave a comment "YOU ARE TAGGED!" in their blog and tell them to read your blog for rules. And now for what you've all been waiting for: 1) I just baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies and I'm ridiculously happy cos they turned out soft and yummy and even my sis condescended to eating a couple. 2) I haven't seen a rainbow in the longest time. 3) I always eat round the perimeter of a burger before going to the middle. 4) I like taking good care of my books. I always hold my books in a precise manner so as not to bend the spine. That's why I get v scared when lending out books. I think I'm slightly obsessive-compulsive. 5) I cry very easily. As in, I could watch a show and start sniffling within two minutes. you lucky people you! 1) xy 2) rah 3) haz 4) jacs 5) chii tarng Friday, December 16, 2005 10:19 PM Piano Love Songs Disc One is the nicest thing ever. My mommy has good taste. :) Why are so many people stressing out over applications? All I've been doing after A's is... not doing anything. I think Christmas shopping is more stressful than the A's. I'm serious. Today was terrible; I think I nearly started hyperventilating when the salesperson told me, for the millionth time, that there was no size. Next time I'll begin Christmas shopping in June or sth. And I wouldn't step into town on a weekend if someone paid me. Unless it's like ten grand or sth. Aarh. So annoying. Next time when I'm working I'll get a credit card and order all my presents online. Tuesday, December 13, 2005 9:34 PM Got my hair cut at Chapter 2 yesterday with nee. They spent ages just blowing my hair! Layer by layer, to make sure it ended up all smooth and shiny. Such nice treatment, I wanna go back again! Even though my dad says they cheated me; my hair barely looks cut. It's all in the service. :) Went to play pool today. Or, more accurately, to learn how to. It's so satisfying hearing a clean smack when the ball goes straight in. But super frustrating when it just ricochets off in some unplanned direction, which is what happens 99% of the time. I have a great teacher though, who's super patient and doesn't laugh (in my face at least) when my white ball only moves a feeble three inches. :) Bleeeeaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh. Having hols 24/7 is actually quite boring. Someone organise something! Sunday, December 11, 2005 9:33 PM senior's farewell pics: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2116321245 Wednesday, December 07, 2005 10:42 PM Saturday, December 03, 2005 12:04 PM Prom is over! It was fun seeing everyone get dressed. The hair lady was amazing! A couple of twists here and there and my hair was up. :) The makeup lady, on the other hand, was not so good. She poked and prodded and I felt like a geisha after she was done. Haha it was quite shocking to see the class guys in blazers and ties and whatnot. They looked very good standing together. Prom was fuuun. Took many photos (though not with my lousy cam cos it died before prom even started) and before the night was over my feet were killing me. Got to watch my lovely juniors dance in heels (kudos to them, seriously), the corny emcee make a fool of himself several times and Thomas Wong get crowned prom king. Met up with the dancers and 4U to take some photos, but didn't manage to meet up with the VJ ppl, which was unfortunate. Anyway, after prom we went back to the room to change into clubbing gear and I changed into lower heels (1.5 inches) and miraculously, my toes could move again. The clubbing experience (if you could call it that) wasn't good. We got as far as three metres within the club before we decided not to go in after all. From all the horror stories we heard from the people who came outside to have a breather, we gathered that to go inside was equivalent to suicide- get crushed by the writhing mass of bodies or suffocated by the smoke. We very gladly got our refund and headed back to Swiss for some good ol' Macdonalds. Cleancut is the way to go. Haha the guys' room surprised us- it was amazingly neat. Usually it's the other way round but nooo- the guys had their shoes meticulously arranged in a row, their bags piled neatly in one corner, and you could actually walk around the room without tripping. Our room looked like a tornado hit it, pardon the cliche- makeup, bags, heels, clothes, towels strewn all over the floor, on the tables, on the bed... Bathing took a long time; there were only two toilets and about seventeen of us. I spent ages trying to get gunk out of my hair and off my face, and by the time I got to sleep it was past four. There were not enough beds for us to sleep on so some had to sleep on the floor. I was freezing my ass off, despite being wrapped in a sweater, a bathrobe, a towel, and with fluffy hotel bedroom slippers on my feet. Was dead tired when I woke up and, after checking out, my class adjourned to Subway for a nice breakfast. And so ended my prom experience. Photos will be up in a couple of days- check back here. Hope you all had a good time too. :) |
